I had a fantastic experience from the get go at the Bristol Dental Practice. The receptionist I spoke to Thursday before I booked was so empathetic , kind and the main reason I booked. I think it her name is Linda. Dentist I seen was Dr Devin Vaghela , hygienist I see a was Zack Caunt. They were all incredibly kind and understanding, taking the time to talk in depth about my teeth and gum problems. They were able to get me in quickly on the same day for a thorough hour-long hygiene appointment, which was a great relief. I felt well-cared for and valued as a patient. Last night was the first time in a while I was able to sleep , so a big Thankyou to you all. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for professional and compassionate dental care. ~ Jade A

I've been coming to this practice for several years. Yesterday I had to have a wisdom tooth extracted. I was a bit apprehensive as it must be at least 30 years since I last had a tooth out, but Jonathan has always been excellent in all other treatment (including fillings and a crown), and explained what would happen. From first injection (not painful) to extraction took about 3-4 minutes. Although I anticipated quite a lot of discomfort afterwards, the advised over-the-counter painkillers meant I experienced very little pain. I followed the instructions given, and experienced no bleeding either. And the pain I'd previously experienced from this tooth has thankfully disappeared. Jonathan is calm and reassuring (as was my previous dentist there some years ago), and I have no hesitation in recommending the Practice. ~ Lesly H

I have just come to the end of a tailored treatment plan and throughout every stage, I have been afforded superb care and attention by so many, including the reception team, the hygienists, Rebecca Hawkings who helped coordinate my plan, Dr Jonathan Cochrane who designed my treatment plan and Dr Godsafe. Being an exceptionally nervous patient, I was so grateful for the extra time and patience given to me to ease my anxieties and a big shout out therefore to Dr Endicott and Dr Isaac who kindly executed their sedation skills so that with some of my treatments, I didn't feel a single thing! I've been going to Bristol Dental Practice for over 10 years and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. I was assigned Dr Jane Ali as my dentist, she is lovely and friendly. I see Jill for my hygiene appointments, she's great. I used to see Helen who is also great, I only changed to Jill because I was assigned to her when she joined the practice and then I quickly got used to seeing Jill and I always ask for her now. Everyone I have seen at the practice has made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I had a wisdom tooth taken out by another dentist (as Dr Ali was away at the time, because of Covid), and he was fab too! (may have been Dr Cochrane but struggling to remember who extracted it for me!). Highly recommended. ~ Holly E

I work as a GP and qualified at Kings College London where I made alot of Dental friends. I see them now and again in London for the odd filling and scale/polish. However, it always feels like a 'conveyor belt' experience when I do see them. Saw Dr. J. Cochrane as a recommendation from a friend when I was training in Bristol. Different experience, he takes pride, time and care with his dental work, one can tell. When I was discussing about his career after the treatment, he told me that he is acquiring more academic experience in specialty fields, which demonstrates its not simply just a 'job' for him. Even my dental colleagues in Central London who I've seen recently for a check-up commented positively on his dental work! ~ Mike

It almost makes a trip to the dentist enjoyable! WOW! is all I can say - This is a fantastic practice which can boast all of the latest technology which makes all treatments less invasive, more relaxing and pain free! I have used several other Dental Practices in Bristol but have never been happy with the service and quality of treatment. Dr Jane Ali and restored my trust in Dentists and I am delighted with my results. New crowns, tooth whitening and some minor cosmetic treatments and the resuts have been BRILLIANT! The staff on reception are excellent, so knowledgeable and will answer any questions you have and have as much time for you as you need. Anybody who is looking for a dentist for check ups, root canal, to see the hygensist, cosmetic treatments or general dentistry work look no futher this practice has it all. ~ Neil R

Bristol Dental practice has been my saviour .I went to Turkey for dental implants . It was hugely traumatic . When I came home my face was numb , I was unable to eat and had a mouth full of stitches. My sister came across an advert for Bristol Dental Practice and I contacted them. Within a few days I had an appointment . It was discovered the work that had been done was poor and an implant had been placed on to my nerve . Dr Cochrane is wonderful , calming and is the only dentist that hasn't made me panic .I have now had two of the implants removed. I was sedated , it's was all done with so much ease. I now have the feeling back in my face. This practice is full of wonderful people who go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. I will never be able to recommend them enough or say thank you enough to this wonderful practice. Thank you to everyone involved in my care. ~ Andrea H

I have been a patient at the Bristol Dental Practice since 2018, and my experience has been consistently excellent. The staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and always focused on finding the best solutions for their patients. Recently, I had two wisdom teeth removed. They could have easily suggested removing the third as well, but they honestly advised that it wasn’t necessary, demonstrating their integrity. The procedure itself was smooth and professionally handled. The team made me feel completely at ease, turning what I anticipated to be a nerve-wracking experience into a surprisingly pleasant one. They provided clear, detailed information throughout, and the skill and expertise of the surgeon contributed to a much faster recovery than I expected. As someone with dental anxiety I happily keep going back to this dental practice and not feel overwhelmed by the experience. Dr Cochrane has done two thorough examinations on my teeth, talking me through the xrays and photographs in a way that makes sense. He is very professional, clearly has experience with nervous patients, and didn’t get frustrated at my many questions. He was able to diagnose three of my teeth when another dentist from another practice ignored my complaints and ‘didn’t see anything wrong’ where there was clearly something going on. Unlike other dental practices I’ve visited, the dentists and reception staff here didn’t make me feel bad about the condition of my teeth and did nothing but reassure me and assign me a treatment plan that gives me hope. As someone with a real fear of the dentist experience, I could not be happier with The Bristol Dental Practice. They are always so kind, friendly, reassuring and extremely patient with me when I'm being a big wuss. They do everything in their power to make you feel comfortable. They offer great, honest advice and I finally feel as though I can TRUST my dentist. I have had a lot of work done here and elsewhere, and I was extremely impressed with the quality and care that went into my fillings which are seamlessly invisible and comfortable. This is now the only dental practice for me, could not recommend them highly enough. ~ Chela R

I can't stress enough what a wonderful practice this is. Before coming here, I had been traumatised by past experiences with other dentists and had a physical reaction to sitting in the dentist’s chair. The staff were kind, compassionate and understanding. After a few visits my attitude started to change and after three years of being a client I can now actually fall asleep during treatment! I have had fillings, whitening and general dentistry done. All of the work was carried out quickly and with great care which has left me with lasting results. Jonny has been able to recommend different ways of improving my smile which have led to a boost in confidence. The practice is modern, clean and a nice environment to be in. I've been coming to the Bristol Dental Practice for about 18 months now. I had some really bad experiences with previous dentists so I have dental phobia. Every person I've dealt with here has been amazing, really kind and patient. They've spoken to me as an adult without making me feel guilty but also given me realistic and appropriate advice at all times. I've gone from having lots of gum issues to being much more stable, and able to feel comfortable in my examinations and treatments despite the dental phobia. So happy with the service and treatment at the Bristol Dental Practice. Mariya Godsafe is far and away the best Dentist I have ever seen. Honest, friendly, professional and efficient. The whole team there are lovely, Courtney is a great dental nurse and particularly impressed with Bianca on reception too. Really friendly and reliable dental practice, would 100% recommend. I have just returned to Bristol Dental practice for a check-up (May 2024). Once again Mariya was excellent. For the first time ever at a dentist I feel I am not being pushed into a decision, and they are not just "up-selling" their services. They are just honest and professional. I had a hygienist appointment with Karina and Regina booked as well, they are also really friendly, welcoming and professional. I am honestly so happy I decided to come here - particularly when you hear of other people's stories from other practices. Thank you and see you in 6 months! ~ Daniel A

Needing a fair amount of dental work done and being a rather anxious patient I researched dental practices and found that the Bristol Dental Practice offered conscious sedation which encouraged me to have a consultation. All the members of the reception team and the appointment coordinator were friendly, helpful and efficient. My dental consultant Dr.Cockrane explained my dental plan in a very reassuring and calm way which allayed any anxiety and along with Dr Cochrne I have nothign but praise for Dr Endicot the anaethetist who made each visit fearfree. All in all a most professional dental team to be highly recommended. ~ Jackie B

Excellent Customer Service. I like the way that the front desk team always put the customer first and Linda especially has worked hard to accommodate my increasingly last minute requests for a 'double hygienist appointment'. She hasn't failed yet! I have been going here for about 3 years now and am really happy with the service. The Dental and Hygienist staff have changed over the years, but there has been no decrease in quality of service and advice - they are very attentive and do a great job. The only negative I have is that the waiting room lights are always on, even in bright sunlight in summer - energy savings could be made here. ~ Andy C

I am biased since I've been coming to this Practice for a long time, but they are all so wonderful I can't bare to leave. I had 2 emergency appointments last week & they were all so kind, sympathetic, gentle & hugely compassionate dealing with me while I was an incomprehensible, gibbering wreck. Am now on the mend and cannot thank the entire team enough. I am far from the ideal patient, as I am not very good at looking after my teeth but they have been the most supportive & non-judgemental dental practice I have ever been too. Across the board the team are kind, helpful, communicative and highly professional. Advice seems to me to be realistic, tailored to each patient, with no hard sell of more expensive treatments that aren't really needed. My late mum was a patient here from when she moved to Bristol aged 89 until she was 96, and she had such a positive experience that I transferred my loyalities here too. I have absolute confidence in them, especially dentist Devin and Hygienist Gill. As an added bonus there are quirky and very informative educational videos running in the lovely airy waiting room, which I enjoy if I arrive early. ~ Sue T

I had wisdom tooth removal performed here due to a long waiting list for the NHS dental hospital in October 2023 by Dr Cochrane. All 4 were required for removal and before I booked the appointment I had an assessment and 3d xray to show what my options would be. I felt like I was informed thoroughly throughout. In the end I decided with one appointment to remove all 4 with sedation. I will say the appointment was very expensive but this was due to the sedation cost. For something as invasive as this I would recommend the sedation for putting you at ease (my wisdom teeth were ALL unerupted). The person who performed the sedation was very comforting and professional. Dr Cochrane and his assistant were great and I felt very looked after by everyone. I had to return a second time as my stitches did not dissolve as expected but I was seen very quickly. I would recommend this practice in a heartbeat. ~ Lorna B

Went to see the hygienist - Claire - recently, for a one-off visit as my usual dentist was unavailable during COVID restrictions. Very professional and friendly service with Claire still able to operate using the full set of powered cleaning 'tools' that some other hygienists appear not to be able to offer at the moment. Very pleased with the way everyone at the practice managed the COVID situation in terms of distancing and PPE, and most importantly came out with teeth that both looked and felt very clean after Claire expertly rectified my own cleansing negligence! ~ Andy B

Everyone at Bristol Dental Practice is exceptionally friendly and professional. All of the staff - from the receptionists to the dentists - go out of their way to ensure that your experience is a positive one. When receiving treatment, it is clear that the doctors here are highly experienced with a great deal of knowlede in the art of dentistry. The high quality treatment and excellent customer service also leaves you confident that you are in the best hands. Even the building itself exudes professionalism. I very much doubt there is a better dental practice in the South West. ~ Justin F

I have been with The Bristol Dental Practice for the past 3 years and they have always been honest, caring, understanding and professional. I have always been seen by Devan and he informs you of what to expect, by way of treatment and costings. The costs of the private dental treatment is a little more expensive then NHS. However, the treatment appears to be superior in both personal and material's used. If I was to recommend a dental practice then this would be the one.
